Project GUTS - Green Urban Transport Systems

The CHALLENGE of GUTS is how to reconcile economic development and accessibility of cities with improving quality of life, environmental protection and fighting climate change. Currently 31% of all air pollution is coming from transport, of which up to 7% is coming from public transport.

The overall OBJECTIVE of GUTS is to contribute to sustainable urban mobility in Central Europe. The specific objective is to create a strong institutional, financial and technological guidance for the development of sustainable public transport systems for small and medium size cities, while focusing on the use of renewable energies and helping them to select the most appropriate development schemes.

The DRIVING FORCE of the GUTS partnership is the cooperation of local authorities, transport operators, knowledge institutions and representatives of the industry.
